Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups warm milk
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup melted caramel
- 1 cup softened butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until the yeast has dissolved.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the milk mixture, stirring until it forms a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans. Set aside.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle that is about 18 x 24 inches. Spread the melted caramel over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the caramel.
- Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the long side. Pinch the seams to seal. Cut the roll into 12 equal slices.
- Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Place the slices in the pan and spread the softened butter over the top. Cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
